Scott Jaffee is the Managing Member and founder of Metropolitan Realty Group, a company he formed over twenty years ago after working in various capacities in the real estate industry. He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker, a Certified HUD Manager, a Certified Tax Credit Specialist and a member of numerous industry associations.
He began his career in the real estate industry with Eastway Construction, a New York City construction company that specialized in the complete rehabilitation and renovation of low income properties. During his tenure with the company, he supervised the rehabilitation of over 5,000 units in the greater New York area. He also worked with Palen Management Corp., a real estate management company that focused on management of HUD subsidized properties throughout the tri-state area.
Since its inception, Metropolitan Realty Group has expanded its portfolio annually. In Scott’s capacity as a Certified HUD Property Manager, he oversees the day-to-day management of over 3,500 Mitchell Lama and HUD Project Based Section 8 units.
He has managed many properties with an aggregate value close to $1 billion dollars with annual revenues that exceed $60 million dollars. Understanding the essential service and the significant importance of investing in safe and decent housing, Scott’s efforts have had a tremendous impact on the lives of innumerable tenants, employees, and business associates.
Scott is as respected for his philanthropic endeavors as he is for his business acumen. He is active in many charities including: UJA, The Sid Jacobson JCC, Riverside Hawks and the Henry Kaufman Camp Grounds. Through a partnership with A-List Education, an innovative education company specializing in test prep and college readiness, Scott has established a program to provide SAT/ACT prep courses and other support programs such as college application advising, parent workshops, and financial aid counseling for families that live in MRG buildings and the surrounding areas. Since 2013 these programs have helped over 500 students navigate the path to college.
