Mitchell Reiter

General Counsel

Mitchell Reiter is General Counsel for MRG and is responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the company, extending from contract drafting and review; mortgage refinancing; Section 8, LIHTC and other regulatory compliance; insurance placement and compliance; and supervision of all commercial and landlord-tenant litigation. As a member of the senior management team, Mitchell is further directly involved in the acquisition of new properties; the development and construction of new properties; the renovation, rehabilitation, and capital improvement of all existing properties; and the relations with the company’s contractors, vendors and partners.

Prior to joining MRG, Mitchell was in private practice for 25 years focusing on real estate, construction, insurance, and general business law. His previous firm represented MRG and Mitchell closed nearly all of the mortgage financing transactions representing hundreds of millions of dollars of mortgage financing over a 10-year period.

Mitchell has extensive experience in real estate and construction law and prior to joining MRG in his current role, he represented many of the largest public contractors in New York City who built many major public infrastructure projects in the Metropolitan NYC area, such as the new World Trade Center, the new Tappan Zee Bridge, the new Third Avenue Bridge, the 2nd Ave Subway, the Eastside access, the Croton Water Treatment plant, among others.

He is a cumlaude graduate of Hamilton College and graduated with honors from the National Law Center at George Washington University.
