The devastating fire at the Bronx on the morning of January 9, 2022, took 17 people’s lives, including 8 children, and left 44 people injured - many with life-threatening injuries. To all who were affected, who lost their family, friends, and those who are grieving, we share your grief at this difficult time with deep sympathy and condolences. The MRG team will do everything in our power to support the community.

MRG’s top priority is the safety of our tenants in our building and in their homes. While we know this was an extremely devastating tragedy in our community, we also know that apartment fires are not uncommon in high-population areas.

To keep everyone safe, we recommend making sure that you follow fire and safety guidelines. By protecting yourself from fires, you are also protecting our community.

The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, in partnership with Mayor Eric Adams and The City of New York, is raising money to support victims of this tragic event here.
